}} Emmerich Danzer (born March 15, 1944 in Vienna, Austria) was an Austrian figure skater and multiple European and World Champion. ==Career== Emmerich Danzer began to skate at the age of five.〔 He attended a Catholic school in Vienna. Herta Wächter was his coach from 1953.〔 Between 1965 and 1968 Danzer won the European title four times and between 1966 and 1968 he was World Champion three times. He was famous for being strong in compulsory figures and in the free program. He was the gold medal favorite at the 1968 Olympics but placed fourth in the compulsory figures after almost coming to a stop.〔 He won the free skate but finished off the podium overall while countryman Wolfgang Schwarz won the gold.
